DOCUMENTING FORCE WORKSHOP
In the aftermath of using force to control offender resistance, the officer’s report is used, at a minimum, to evaluate performance and decision making. The officer’s report can also become a critical piece of evidence in both criminal and civil trials. Documenting force delivers proven strategies that help officers avoid unnecessary scrutiny. In addition to providing expert witness testimony on behalf of officers in state and federal courts since 2001, instructors bring a unique blend of law enforcement, journalism, and technical writing expertise into the classroom. Participants will receive the Documenting Force publication and mobile device application for Apple or Android with dozens of report examples for use in the field.
Location: Streetsboro Police Department, 2080 SR 303, Streetsboro, OH.
Date & Time: August 11-12, 2014, 8am-4pm
