Brush Pick Up
Spring pick up is usually the 3rd week in April
Fall pick up is usually the last week in September
Tree limbs can be as large as 10” in diameter but no more than 8’ to 10’ long.
Chipping crews will spend a maximum of one half hour chipping at each residence.
Brush will be picked up from developed lots only. The chipping program was designed to help residents who wish to trim trees and shrubs.
If a commercial contractor is hired to trim your trees, it is then the responsibility of the contractor for removal of your brush.
Brush containing foreign objects will NOT be collected. Grass, weeds, trash, stumps, rocks, lumber, logs, firewood, and leaves cannot be mixed with the brush piles.
Please place brush on the lawn close to the roads edge, with the cut end facing the road. Having the correct placement will assist the crews in efficiently collecting the brush
Leaf pick up follows the conclusion of brush pick up, and continues as long as the leaves fall and until snow begins. Residents are encouraged to rake their leaves to the front of their homes by the roads edge, but not to obstruct the road or the culvert at the end of their drive.
Christmas tree pick up is generally scheduled for the first week in January. Residents are encouraged to leave their trees at the front of their homes but not in the road.
June is the month that we have a ONE DAY CLEAN UP for scrap tires and appliances only. This is for Streetsboro residents only.
Cemetery Foundations are poured twice a year.
Once in May before Memorial Day, and once in October before Veterans’ Day.
New graves are to be settled for at least 6 months before foundations can be poured or stones set.
Hydrant Flushing is a citywide and is generally scheduled for the last week in March and lasts almost 2 weeks. Customers are advised during this time that they may see a slight discoloration of their water, but it is safe for drinking. Users should check the cold water for clarity and run clear before using it for laundry.
The City water is monitored daily for chlorine, monthly for bacteria and quarterly for disinfection by products.
Use of a fire hydrant is permitted by city employees only. Anyone seeing someone other than a city employee should contact the Water Department at 330-626-2856 or the Police Department on their non emergency number at 330-626-4976. No outside contactors or landscapers are to be on any hydrant for any reason.
