Welcome To Streetsboro

Mayor Glenn M. Broska

Mayor Glenn M. Broska was born to Arthur C. and Rose Broska at the Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune in July of 1958. He moved frequently around the United States due to his father’s career in the Marine Corps and in 1971 he, his parents and three brothers settled in Ohio.

He enlisted in the Marine Corps after graduation from high school and served four years, attaining the rank of Sergeant and was Honorably Discharged in 1980. Shortly thereafter, he started a 13 year career with Tennessee Pride Sausage Company as the Area Sales Manager for Northeast Ohio and Western Pennsylvania.  While employed at Tennessee Pride the Mayor served as a part-time Firefighter for the City of Streetsboro.  The experience and education he received while at SFD was a deciding factor in his becoming a career firefighter for the City of Twinsburg in 1994 when a downsizing at Tennessee Pride required a change in career paths. He served concurrently on Streetsboro and Twinsburg Fire Departments for over 12 years and had attained the rank of Captain in both departments. He left Streetsboro Fire in 2006 and continued to serve in Twinsburg until his resignation after being elected as Mayor of Streetsboro in 2011.

Between the two fire departments the Mayor has over 22 years of public service. Over those many years he has acquired the knowledge, education and experience that will help him to manage and lead the city over the coming years.
The Mayor has been a resident of Streetsboro since 1988. He lives in Deer Meadow with his girlfriend of four years, Lorie. He has two children; a son Mike and a daughter Lindsey.  Mike graduated from Streetsboro High School Valedictorian of his class in 2001 and is currently a First Lieutenant in the Air Force. Lindsey graduated from Streetsboro High School in 2002 and was a member of the National Honor Society. He has a grandson Noah.

Mayor Broska’s focus in his first four years will be to build the community by forging relationships with the schools, businesses, industry and foremost, the residents of Streetsboro. Significant effort will be directed to our roads, infrastructure, parks and recreational opportunities. Bringing new higher paying jobs to our community will be one of the highest priorities.

Please feel free to contact him at City Hall if the need should arise.
