About Streetsboro

The City of Streetsboro is an industrial power house within easy commute of some of Ohio’s largest cities.  The Cleveland-Akron-Canton Ohio Combined Metropolitan Statistical Area has more than 3.5 million residents and is the 18th largest MSA (metropolitan statistical area) in the country.  Streetsboro is 19 miles East of Akron, 31 miles Southeast of Cleveland, 40 miles North of Canton and 43 miles west of Youngstown.  60% of all US Fortune 500 headquarters are within a day’s drive of Northeast Ohio and 50% of the U.S. population is within 500 miles.  The region reaches the largest number of consumers in a 250 mile radius compared with any other metro market in the U.S.  This proximity allows people and products to move quickly and efficiently to the destinations they need to reach, all while being both a cost effective and culturally rich environment.  The cost of living in the Cleveland – Akron – Canton area is 15 – 30% below the national average but we have great quality of life amenities including three professional sports teams (MLB, NFL, NBA), nationally ranked park systems and museums, a world class orchestra and the second largest theater district in the country.

Streetsboro’s strategic location along the Ohio Turnpike allows our business community to quickly get goods and services to their final destination and cast a wide net for their workforce needs.  Streetsboro is the 7th busiest interchange on the Ohio Turnpike with more than 40,000 vehicles/day and Streetsboro’s Interstate 480 intersection has more than 43,000 vehicles/day.  Our transportation amenities have led to the creation of three of the region’s largest industrial parks, including Interstate Commerce Center and Philipp Parkway and Miller Parkway Business Parks that are home to companies in the plastics, logistics, automotive, metal fabrication and advanced manufacturing fields.  More than 2,350 acres within the City are zoned for industrial uses and there are still large sites available for development.

Economic development helps improve the city’s tax base and helps create jobs through business attraction and retention.  Our staff recognizes that most new jobs within a community come from businesses that are already within Streetsboro and strives to stay in constant contact with business owners to help them grow.  The Economic Development Department is the first point of contact for general business assistance and serves as the city’s liaison to companies that are considering, or are already within, the City of Streetsboro.  The department’s objective is to help companies connect with the right resources to establish, manage and grow their operations.  To facilitate this mission, the department manages the city’s portfolio of tax incentives and has a variety of contacts to assist with everything from permitting, financing and help with finding the right workforce.  Contact us today to learn why major corporations including Step2, L’Oreal, Delta, Permco, Automated Packaging / Sealed Air, Berry Plastics, Deluxe and many others have chosen to locate, stay and grow in Streetsboro.
