Backflow & Cross-Connection Prevention
The City of Streetsboro Water Department in compliance with Ohio’s Drinking Water Laws found in Chapter 6109 of the Ohio Revised Code (ORC) and Chapter 3745 of the Ohio Administrative Code (OAC) and City of Streetsboro Codified Ordinance PART NINE Chapter 927 Backflow Prevention and Cross-Connection Control, requires the Water Department to perform routine inspections of residential and commercial structures for the purpose of, identifying illegal connections, cross-connections and to ensure proper backflow devices are used, when required; to provide protection against any unwanted contamination so to ensure safe drinking water.
The Water Department utilizes BSI Online Backflow Solutions as a 3rd party Backflow Service to the city. The service allows Professional Plumbers to report backflow device installation, maintenance and compliance. Residents and businesses can sign-up and log into their own account to view their backflow devices for test results, test due dates and more.
The Streetsboro Water Department monitors all BSI Online activity, and issues notices and violations as necessary.
