The Streetsboro Fire Department has implemented many measures to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). All ambulances and other fire department vehicles are disinfected daily to combat this virus. Additionally the patient compartment of the ambulance is disinfected after each run. All interior areas of the fire station are also disinfected daily.
All fire department employees receive regular temperature checks and a health screening before their shift starts. We wear masks throughout our shift while also maintaining social distancing when possible. Various types of personal protective equipment have been provided to all fire department personnel to help keep everyone safe in the line of duty. When on an emergency medical call, EMS personnel wear an N-95 face mask, goggles, gloves, and gowns when necessary.
