The City of Streetsboro is now accepting lateral and new hire applications for a full-time Police Dispatcher/Records Clerk

To be considered, all new-hire candidates must successfully complete the required test through the National Testing Network (NTN). The testing window is open until July 25, 2025.

We’ve also upgraded our in-person typing test to better reflect the real-world skills needed for dispatching. If you didn’t pass the typing test in the past, we encourage you to come back and give the new format a try - it may be a much better fit for your abilities.

If you’ve applied through NTN within the last year, you only need to resubmit your test scores to be considered.

For more information about the position as well as the link to NTN, visit the City of Streetsboro Human Resources website at: https://www.cityofstreetsboro.com/local-job-opportunity/

  • Entry Level Patrol Officer Positions:

The Streetsboro Police Department hires patrol officers and dispatchers through a civil service testing process (with the exception of lateral positions). No prior training or experience is needed in order to be considered for the position of dispatcher. Patrol officer positions require that a candidate obtain OPOTA certification by time of appointment.

As of this time, no test for entry level patrol officer is scheduled.
